VII Premios Jóvenes Investigadores de Fundación AstraZeneca y el ISCIII
La iniciativa pretende promover la investigación entre grupos de investigación procedentes de diferentes comunidades autónomas y va destinada a redes compuestas por grupos de investigación que presenten proyectos de marcado carácter clínico y traslacional en cuatro áreas temáticas prioritarias para la salud:
Cardiovascular, Renal y Metabolismo: Enfermedad Renal Crónica e Hiperpotasemia, Insuficiencia Cardiaca, Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2, Síndrome Coronario Agudo.
Oncología, Medicina de Precisión e Inmunoncología: Cáncer de Pulmón, Cáncer de Mama, Cáncer de Ovario, Cáncer Gastrointestinal, Cáncer de Próstata, Leucemia Linfocítica Crónica.
Respiratorio e Inmunología: Enfermedad Pulmonar Obstructiva Crónica (EPOC), Asma, Lupus, Enfermedades Inflamatorias Eosinofílicas.
Vacunas e Inmunoterapias: COVID-19, Gripe Pediátrica, Virus Respiratorio Sincitial (VRS).
Como novedad, en esta edición se involucra a los pacientes en la iniciativa. Los proyectos podrán presentar una carta de apoyo emitida por una asociación de pacientes en sus candidaturas, siendo este un aspecto que se valorará positivamente a la hora de seleccionar los proyectos galardonados.
En esta convocatoria, se contempla además la concesión de un premio Honorífico a la Excelencia en la Trayectoria Científica, que recibirá 50.000 euros para destinar a la institución y proyecto de investigación que elija.

Beca de investigación en Ataxia 2023
La AEFAT lanza la Beca de investigación en Ataxia 2023, en el que se financian todos los proyectos de investigación que puedan afectar directa o indirectamente en la salud y el bienestar de los pacientes con A-T.
Esto incluye pero no se limita a
Estudios que mejoren nuestra comprensión sobre los aspectos básicos o clínicos de la enfermedad
El desarrollo, mejora y validación de técnicas y tratamientos.
Serán bienvenidos los proyectos que tengan como objetivo mejorar aspectos generales de las técnicas de terapia génica y celular, independientemente de si se centran específicamente en la propia A-T, siempre que muestren potencial para futuras aplicaciones y consideren las peculiaridades de la enfermedad.

2ª Convocatoria del Programa de Ayudas para la atracción y contratación de talento investigador por universidades y centros de investigación: Talento Senior Andia
La finalidad de estas ayudas es fortalecer las líneas de investigación de universidades y centros de investigación del SINAI mediante la contratación de personal investigador con una destacada trayectoria investigadora, así como crear nuevos grupos de investigación en dichas entidades.
Estas ayudas financian la contratación durante 5 años de personal investigador con una trayectoria investigadora destacada. Además, también se subvenciona la contratación de hasta dos personas investigadoras ayudantes de la persona investigadora principal y se financian gastos adicionales necesarios para la ejecución de la actividad de investigación.

The ERC Scientific Council has agreed on a tentative calendar for its 2024 Work Programme, which may be subject to chance. Applications can be made in any field of research, and the total amount per project is an estimate.
Starting Grant: For promising early-career researchers with 2-7 years experience after PhD. From 11/07/2023 to 24/10/2023. Grant up to 1,5€ million for 5 years.
Consolidator Grant: For promisisng early-career researchers with 7-12 years experience after PhD. From 12/09/2023 to 12/12/2023. Grant up to 2€ million for 5 years.
Advanced Grant: For established research leaders with a recognised track record of research achievements. From 29/05//2024 to 29/08/2024. Grant up to 2,5€ million for 5 years.
Synergy Grant: To address ambitious research questions that can only be answered by the coordinated work of a small group of 2-4 principal investigators. From 12/07/2023 to 08/11/2023. Grant up to 10€ million for 6 years.
Proof of Concept Grant: For ERC grant holders to explore the commercial or societal potential innovation of their ERC frontier research project. From 16/11/2023 to 14/03/2024. Lump sump grant of 150.000€.

Fase de Pre-propuesta de la convocatoria "Reto AECC 70% Supervivencia"
La Fundación Científica AECC ha abierto el plazo de pre-propuestas para su mayor convocatoria en investigación en cáncer para aumentar la tasa de supervivencia.
El objetivo de la convocatoria es apoyar un proyecto de investigación multidisciplinar y multiterritorial, que aúne a investigadores y profesionales sanitarios de al menos 5 provincias españolas, y que dé respuesta a una necesidad clínica no resuelta de aquellos cánceres con una tasa de supervivencia baja y una incidencia con una amplia distribución geográfica nacional de los casos y muestras.

TRANSCAN-3 JTC 2023: "Translational research on cancer epigenetics"
The ERA-NET TRANSCAN-3 has launched its 3rd call for proposals (JTC 2023) on the topic of: Translational research on cancer epigenetics.This call will be focussed on 2 aims:
Aim 1: The role of epigenetics in cancer initiation and progression.These studies may aim to validate novel epigenetics-based biomarkers to improve detection, diagnosis, prognosis of cancers or response to therapies (using recently developed innovative approaches, multiomic approaches, single-cell analysis, patient-derived organoids, patient-derived xenografts, tumour samples collected from retrospective and/or prospective cohorts of patients or clinical trials)
1.1: To understand cancer initiation and progression by characterisation of the epigenetic landscape.
1.2: To define epigenetic features of cells in the tumour microenvironment that may promote tumour progression (e.g., immune cells, vascular cells, microbiota)
1.3: To study the role of epigenetic modifications as predictors of cell persistence or treatment resistance
1.4: To validate epigenetic markers useful to improve early detection and diagnosis by exploring the correlation between epigenetics and clinical cancer manifestation
Aim 2: Validation of new epigenetics-based therapeutic strategies to limit cancer progression, prevent relapse/recurrence or increase the efficiency or reduce toxicity of existing anti-cancer therapies
2.1: To validate novel therapeutic targets (novel targets should be evaluated in translational studies with regard to their impact on treatment efficacy, safety and patient reported outcomes)
2.2: To study the potential use of epigenetic modulators to overcome resistance to anti-cancer therapies
2.3: To develop novel epidrugs/therapeutic approaches, through phase I and II clinical trials (investigating combinations of available treatments, new therapeutics, new administration schemes, etc.) to improve safety and efficacy of treatments (objective responses; patient reported outcomes regarding morbidity and quality of life; etc.)
2.4: To develop novel theranostic approaches involving epigenetics of cancer

CONVOCATORIA MARIE SKLODOWSKA-CURIE POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS 2023
Se han publicado las convocatorias de ayudas individuales de las Acciones Marie Sklodowska-Curie del Programa Horizonte Europa. Estas ayudas tienen como objeto mejorar el potencial creativo e innovador de los investigadores postdoctorales, dotándolos de nuevas competencias y habilidades, mediante la realización de un proyecto de investigación personalizado, de 12-36 meses de duración, en un marco internacional e intersectorial. Existen dos modalidades:
EUROPEAN FELLOWSHIPS: dirigidas a fomentar la movilidad internacional e intersectorial en universidades, centros de investigación, infraestructuras de investigación, empresas, PYMEs y otros grupos socioeconómicos de toda Europa y fuera de ella. Se financiarán proyectos de uno o dos años de duración en una institución europea.
GLOBAL FELLOWSHIPS: para la formación de investigadores en centros o grupos de referencia establecidos en un tercer país, mediante una estancia de hasta 24 meses, con un año de retorno obligatorio al grupo de partida u origen.
